HMS BOUNTY invites applicants for the post of 1st Mate. The 1st Mate is also the vessels Navigation and Communication Officer and is responsible for updating and maintaining charts as well as the VHF, SSB, and Inmarsat.
This Summer HMS BOUNTY will be participating in Great Lakes United TALL SHIPS CHALLENGE(r) and will be visiting all five Great Lakes as well as transiting the East Coast and St. Lawrence Seaway.
Season begins in mid March in West Palm Beach , FL. Applicants should be willing to commit to at least 6 months.
Ideal candidate will have Square Rig sailing and traditional wooden boat maintenance experience. Must have previously served in the capacity of Mate.
500 GRT N.C. Mates License, STCW 95, and Marine Radio Operators Permit preferred.
Our mission is to preserve Historic Tall Ship BOUNTY through active sailing and dockside interpretation.
