The schooner Sultana is currently seeing a Deckhand/Educator for the remainder of its 2008 sailing season. Employment for this position can begin as early as mid July and continues through mid-November. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree and prior educational/sailing experience are preferred. The successful applicant will participate in Sultana’s annual maintenance haul-out in August and then sail with the schooner as she travels the Chesapeake Bay during the remainder of her 2008 season. Applicants should have strong communication skills and an active interest in education. Crew members work 5-day weeks, receive competitive compensation and are provided with a private bunk on board the schooner as well as space in Sultana’s crew apartment in downtown Chestertown, Maryland.
