• Notify Captain of any deficiencies that may affect the safe operation of the vessel
• Instruct students in basic engine room practices when appropriate
• Ensure that vessel has adequate spare parts and common supplies before start of season as dictated by the beginning inventory sheet
• Coordinate with Captain to prepare for USCG and ABS inspections
• Handle sail when needed as directed by the Captain
• Enforce ship rules
